Bennett Place Attic Fire
On Tuesday, 7/18 at 13:58, Fire District 3 responded to what originated as a smoke investigation, but turned out to be an attic fire.
Fire crews found smoke and fire coming from the rear of the single story home. Crews made entry but found no smoke or fire inside the structure. It was then quickly determined that fire was actively burning within the attic. As additional crews arrived, an aggressive interior attack was performed using vertical ventilation. The fire was contained to the attic while crews pulled the living room and kitchen ceilings to access and fight the fire above. No one was injured.
The homeowner was not home at the time, but arrived while crews were fighting the fire. Initial investigation confirmed that the fire started outside the home. PUD responded and disconnected the power to the structure. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
